Night of Giving

The Angels for Anna Night of Giving traditionally takes place over Labor Day weekend.  Our ninja Angels travel throughout the area (Southwest Ohio, middle Tennessee, southern California) dispensing gifts of ceramic art to random (and sometimes not so random) individuals.  These gifts are designed to encourage and empower individuals to do something nice for someone else.  Angels for Anna volunteers paint the artwork in a dizzying array of colors, patterns, and textures.  These are then fired in a kiln, making them weather resistant.  Final pieces are assembled and made ready for distribution.  Our network of volunteers additionally let us know of people who might be in need of finding a gift.  We do our best to accommodate these special requests in addition to random distribution throughout the communities.  We hold “painting parties” throughout the year getting together to paint pottery pieces.  Additionally, in the Fall (Sunday, October 16, 2016) we partner with the Centerville Lady Elks Lacrosse Team for Halloween Laxfest.  The Elks, competing teams, and fans are all invited to help us out by painting some pieces.  Each piece of art is made of five individual pieces so many volunteers are required.  The LaxFest also helps to raise funds for our “parent packs/survival sacks” program – additionally helping people experiencing an unplanned admission to the hospital.
